Hi Ben,

I sure trust you mentor! We'll just leave his footwork out of this
and stick to the fingering! Anyhow, I'm trying to picture this
fingering with the 4th (ring) finger on Bb. Going up in a dorian, it
sounds like puting the thumb on C, 2 on Db, 3 on Eb, 1 (thumb) on F, 2
on G, 3 on Ab, and 4 on Bb, and so on.

Assuming that is right, the Bb Blues scale doesn't seem as intuitive,
at least to me. Leaving out the C, and Jumping from the I (Bb with
4th finger) to the III (Db wih the 2 is a little awkward in of itself.
But getting to the E from the Eb (with the 3rd finger) seems like a
wreck (consistent with my playing!). Do you just slide the third
finger down to the E as wel then use the 1 on the F? Thumbs on the C
and F in a Bb blues scale sounds dificult to me.
