I think, for now, I'm going to get a good USB sound card for my lap top. I'm currently using the built in sound card and MME drivers, for a total latency of 75ms. I've heard with a better sound card running ASIO, I can get down to 4ms which is perfectly acceptable.

I don't do a lot of register changes while playing, and the audience wouldn't know the difference if I did. :-)

Still may the the VK-8M if this doesn't work out.

PLayed the electro today, and although it was very nice, I just can't see spending that kind of money for a bar band.

If I were in a jazz trio, with a dsicenrning audience, yeah, electro + speak easy + motion sound. But that's over 3K US....
