I did not see that episode, but on her last tour, she used Jon Cleary. He's opening for her on this tour, so I'm guessing he's still her keyboardist. He wrote "Fools Game", which she covers on "Silver Lining." He is an Englishman (or Welsh maybe) who currently resides in New Orleans. He is a MONSTER player, and in fact, his band is called Jon Cleary and the Monster Gentlemen. He is a smokin piano player, a walking lexicon of NewOrleans funk keyboard playing. When I saw him he was using a Roland XV88, at least with Bonnie. I saw him a year or so before in New Orleans and he was using an RD500 and was just unbelievable. He used the piano and clav sounds exclusively, ran in stereo, but during the clav stuff, used an old CryBaby Wah Pedal. His disc Jon Cleary and the Monster Gentlemen is pretty good, but doesn't come close to capturing how good he and his band is live. He has a new disc coming out 4.20 called Pin Your Spin.

Did anyone catch Bonnie Raitt on Austin City last
night. Fantastic keyboard player!! Does anyone know
what he was using for the piano sounds? KURZWEIL? He
had a nice Hammond B3 too. I guess at that level you
can afford the best and the roadies to move the stuff.
Also thought the sound man did a great job. Everything
sounded perfectly balanced and the keyboards were nice
and loud when they were suppose to be.
