In my experience, using the Barker with the internal Leslie sim
produces some really nasty, un-musical sounds. This is related to
the distortion being added after the Leslie sim is applied, which
causes the distortion to go on and off as the simulated
rotors "turn" toward and away from you. Check the archives for
details. After I raised this issue with Speakeasy, they began to
suggest that the Barker only be used with CX-3s that are played with
real Leslies (or Motion Sound units). Good advice indeed.
