Subject:Both Norm's and Eric's Great Bands
Hi. I really enjoyed your bands, and the links to other sites
(dr.funk....I love it!). I've wanted to play with a section since I
first heard BS&T when I was a snot nose in the 60's. I was a
drummer then (thought I'd get chicks), and really liked Bobby
Colomby's quirky style. Saw them in '69 or '70 at Montclair State
College in New Jersey, after the first post-Al Kooper album was
released. Great horns, of course, and Dick Halligan was no sloutch
on B-3. Well, I gave up drums when we moved to the Eastern Shore of
Maryland in the early '70s, and picked up the guitar, cause I
thought I'd get more chicks. Played guitar in local bands well into
the '80s when I started doubling on keys, cause I thought maybe I'd
get more chicks (wrong, wrong, and wrong again...shoulda been a
singer...).
I was fortunate to have played for about 12 years in a band with a
Peabody graduate sax player. He was, and still is an incredible
player, and as far as I know, the only decent horn player in an
eighty five mile radius. Alas! It appears there is no section in my
future, but I WILL CHEERFULLY DONATE FOREVER MY NIGHTLY CUT TO THE
CAUSE IF ANY OF YOU GUYS ARE AVAILABLE, AND LURKING ABOUT POCOMOKE
CITY, MARYLAND: I'M RUNNIN OUTTA TIME, HERE!! Hell, I'll even buy
your drinks..... vacation and medical?...... bonus and stock
options? ... how about chicks?
