One important overlooked record is King Curtis's Live from the
Fillmore West, with Preston, Purdie, Dupree et al, in my opinion the
best R&B instrumental LP ever. This was Aretha Franklin's backup
band on the same bill in 1972, which is on another great LP "Live at
the Fillmore West". Curtis's record was the warmup act!
Anyway, Preston solos and comps as only he can. Five stars.
