Subject:Speakeasy Gain Question
Just got a Speakeasy Shotglass Classic preamp to use with my solid
state amp rig for my Roland VK-8M and Roland Synth. The thing has a
ton of gain, have to keep the gain knob at around 9 to 11 oclock to
keep it under control. Was curious as to how other Speakeasy cloners
set their gain switch. Also, anybody out there run their synth thru a
clone Speakeasy?
f.y.i. - I also have a 1970's Fender PA 135(10 tubes, totaly rebuilt)
head that I use at home with a JBL EON15. When I used the Speakeasy
with it, it was to much overkill and found I did'nt really need it.
The tube pa head gives me the same warm results as the Speakeasy.
