Subject:Re: MS Pro3T/Lo_Pro Rotational Directions
Well, now that I've tried to tighten the motor-to-rotor belt in the
LoPro, I'd like to complain.
The first time I did this, about six months ago, the belt was
flapping around when the rotor was at high speed. I read the manual,
and it said to loosen the two screws/bolts that held the motor in
place, slide it away from the rotor pivot to tighten the belt, and
retighten the bolts.
Except the hole for the motor back-and-forth adjustment was so
precise there was no way to move the motor away! I was forced to get
a wood chisel out and make the hole for the motor larger.
Now I see that even that surgery wasn't enough, since the belt's
obviously stretched. I'm going to have to remove the motor and get
my wood chisel out again.
Even though I have a new belt and the "improved" belt replacement
page for the manual, I'm not gonna try it. At least the picture now
looks vaguely like the rotor assembly, but the directions - and the
location of the mystery rotor pivot shaft setscrew - leave something
to be desired.
What does this have to do with playing, I ax myslef..
