Subject:Re: Scratch Built Leslie Project
Dan we both have the same idea. I've been wanting to make a solid state vibrato/chorus also for my Voce V3. I've been studying different ideas. One is that I have the Panasonic BBD book (bucket brigade book from Digikey with circuits for vibrato'chorus. So far I have not found the AN6551 IC needed. However I doubt if it would be any better than the Voce. Also there is a Lowrey organ circuit that is a bucket brigade vibrato circuit. I have purchased the chip and parts for it but have yet not put it together. HOWEVER, I have solved the problem in the meantime by using the REAL THING.....A Hammond scanner and delay line. I'm surprised that Dave Amels, the genius that he is did not make a better vibrato. It took a super genius to develope the V3 as complex as it is and a GREAT clone. I asked him if there is anything to do to the vibrato circuit to give it more depth. He said no. The problem with the V3 and V5 vibrato is it's lack of depth. Let's keep in touch (all of us interested in this project) and discuss our progress. If interested in using the REAL THING I'm open for questions. Bill O.
