I forgot to mention. After you have done as per my last message and the volume is too high then lower the amp.

I would turn the amp all the way up then turn the organ up until it distorts and turn it back just until it stops distorting. You could have the amp way low and if the organ is too high it would still drive the amp into distortion. Bill

Subject: [CWSG] A Question About Organ vs Amp Volume
Hi all,
This just might be one of those "half-full/half empty" uestions, but
here goes.
When gigging, is it better to turn the volume on the amp up higher,
and lower on the organ, or vice versa? (Or, set them both to their
mid positions?)
I'm running an old Korg BX-3 through a tubed 65 watt Fender guitar
amp, which pushes a 15" compression-loaded speaker with a 6x9 horn
mounted in the middle of the woofer. (Don't laugh, ya gotta play with
that which you got!) The external speaker is usually mic'ed into our
PA when we gig, using a Shure Beta 57M mic.
It seems that no matter which settings I use, I get a flat, one-
dimensional sound that is very dirty and over-driven. (the overdrive
on the BX-3 is turned down as low as possible.)
Thanks,
Bill
