Subject:Ron Pedley at Spaghettini's
Last night my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of seeing Ron Pedley and
his group, Kombo, at Spaghettini's. What an inspiring performance! Ron
is an extremely creative and accomplished Hammond player and really
shined on the new B3 supplied by our friend Mike Kahrs.
One of the highlights of the evening was Ron's juxtaposition of "Use Me"
and "Green Eyed Lady"... (That's the word Ron, "juxtaposition")... In
any case, it was a lot of fun and displayed great musical facility. His
soloing and comping on the Wurlie was amazing. What a wonderful sound.
One tune he doubled up the solo in the Wurlie and B3...
It was also a pleasure to chat after the set and discuss some of the
issues that we discuss here (always nice to put a face to the posts). As
it turns out, Ron recognized me from one of my Martini Blues gigs. Small
world...
I highly recommend seeing Ron and his group, Kombo. Also recommend the
CD! "Use Me" and Green Eyed Lady" is on it, along with many other great
tunes.
