Whoa!! You can get SLICED bread now???!!! What a world!! LOL

Ok, Walter, I'm sold...your descriptions of those wonderful sounds coming from our keys has me more than ready to add one of these babies to my stack o' gear. Where do I get one?

Talk about the best idea since the invention of sliced bread! The
rackmount Dual Shotglass clone (stereo!) preamp that Steve Hayes at
Speakeasy designed to use with my organ/piano dual stereo keyboard
setup is amazing. After my just-prior experiment with an ART TPS
preamp - solid-state stereo with single tube (?) combined - one
serving of 'crow' coming up, munch, munch: "You can't hit that tube
with enough voltage to get overdrive," ..."Sure I can, let me try
this ART thingy" ...Duhhh

The Dual Shotglass has no tone or level controls on the front - I run
my keyboards flat anyway. There's an A and B input, an A and B
output, and one knob for stereo output level control on the back. I
played with it the first time last weekend and again last night.
Before I hit the first note I turned my amp inputs way down, set the
Speakeasy level about 12 o'clock, thinking that would be good to
start. The first note almost blew me across the room. I turned the
level output down farther and tried again. Playing the Electro, it
was like my last and best Hammond and 122's at full throttle were
reborn. My favorite Roland upright piano preset turned into a
killer Concert Grand. EP's got big and fat with beautiful tone, great
Wurly rocker and swirling Rhodes chords. Orchestral strings and
Basses either sprouted wings and took off or thumped the far wall
with super quality clean, noise-free sound.

I'm more than amazed. Anyone that doesn't already own a Speakeasy to
match their gear: If you have a good clone keyboard and amp now -
whatever is next on your wish list (unless that's it) , move it down
a step until you can get 'The Keyboard Players Best Friend.' I know
whereof I speak; been playing since Rock was Rock 'n Roll, before the
last Hammond rolled off the assembly line.
