Just a tip: Turn it to organ and choose the first fixed preset on the drawbuttons(shift-and 16' down-button). It turns off all the sounds, and you can use it as a controller only with no sounds.

I tried running the Electro's MIDI out into an old Sound Canvas for
Roland Piano 1. The Electro manual's MIDI info isn't much help for
using it as a MIDI controller. I got it set up so that with SC
channels 2-16 muted and no instrument change Rx recognized with Piano
