Subject:Re: Fwd: Smaller keyboard stand solution

An interesting solution. Why don't you take a photo and post it for us to view?
I admire people who use their ingenuity to solve problems rather than spending lots of money.

I wanted to use a second keyboard (dx7) with my CX3 to match as close
as possible the configureation with a real hammond. I tried ultimate
support stands A-frame & apex) but I found that tiered stands did not
allow the lower keyboard to come forward enough and there is too much
space between the two keyboards.

I came up with a platform that fits on a double braced X stand. It is
simply a plywood board 40" wide 20" deep, with 2-4" risers along the
sides. The DX7 fits on the platform and can slide in and out as
needed. the CX3 rests on the two risers (no need for a second tier,
the cx3 is it's own tier). This is quite stable on the x stand. I
put my speakeasy, line6 DD4, and mixer on top of the cx3. Now the
layout is virtually identical to my hammond c3! I used a dark walnut
stain and it looks very hammondish!
