That was exactly the epiphany I had. The "Rotary 1" DSP setting on
my Yamaha is actually a very close digital model of the Hammond
chorus although it's a tad too slow to be convincing. To get it to
sound good on a fast Leslie speed I had to use the upper slot of the
horn pulley so it would sound "right". Even if I had a "convincing"
chorus, the bottom line still comes down to the fact that I only
have ONE drawbar sample and I can't change it's timbre.

Any of the other organ samples sound terrible through the Leslie,
even with the reverb and DSP effects turned off. I think the problem
lies in the fact that the sample has had some effects applied to it
before sampling and the periodic nature of those effects beat with
the rotational speed of the Leslie's rotors.

As soon as I ran the B4 demo through the Leslie you should have seen
the smile on my face - ear to ear!

My biggest challenge with the drawbar controller is debouncing the
drawbars as they're changed and that is easily surmountable in
software.

I'll be posting the design and the code on my website as the design
progresses.
