Subject:Re: V5 and CX3 (I'm still stuck on this)

The CX3 body issue won't be fixed by a reverb: it's
inherent in the instrument. The folks who like the
CX3 aren't affected or bothered by that sound. I'm
one of those who IS. But it is a great instrument
nonetheless. It's ergonomics are unmatched by anyone
else.

I am a V5 proponent (although I traded mine for an
Electro a while back). I think it's the ballsiest and
meatiest of all the Hammond clones. Stick with the
V5, send it to Bruce Wahler for the Percussion upgrade
(I had it done on mine, and will do it again if I end
up owning another V5...which could happen).

No doubt the ease of set-up of the CX3 and its
ergonomics and versatility make it a hard choice to
give up. But if you are bugged by the thinness or
shrillness of it now, I'm afraid you're one of US
(those that felt the same way). You won't be able to
thicken the body of the sound, but with a Speakeasy
and leslie you can tame it somewhat.

On the other hand, a used Nord Electro 73 (from your's
truly) could be your ULTIMATE SOLUTION! (oops, is this
spamming?)
