Thanks ! I'm trying to understand the issues from a working point of view
rather than the techo/lab.....

What does "jacking up the trim level to obscene amounts," mean ?

And I note that you say, "lowering the volume of every other piece of
equipment, and raising the master volume...".

This is pretty much what my whole post (rant ) basically said.....
Why is this a problem ? (being provocative I could say "that's what the
knobs are for !" ) but I'm really trying to understand why you prefer
one overall config to the other......?

i.e. If you have got it all set up and nice and balanced and sweet when the
Nord is there (or CX3) why not use this as the "normal/comfortable" config ?
If no Nord present - no worries. If the Nord is there, you plug it in, know
roughly where the level controls are usually set and "off you go".......

I am just trying to work through if there is a problem with this approach
that I do not understand......
