Subject:Re: Nord Electro Output level
All I know is that when my band puts everything into a commonly used piece of equipment, like a Mackie Mixer, I pretty much know that...
I can roughly put trim on common stage mics like Shure 58s at 12:OO, putting the channel fader at the 80% sweet spot...
I can roughly put trim on unity gain for Roland, Kurzweil et al, synths...
Putting master fader up to desired overall level, everything is pretty much evened out, with next to no fuss.
But when I use an Electro, I have to rearrange the gain structure for the entire band, jacking up the trim level to obscene amounts, lowering the volume of every other piece of equipment, and raising the master volume...or I get the comment...
"Tonight nobody could hear the keys."
So you can give me lessons in gain structure, but my experience is tells me that either the nominal gain of the Electro is way too low or the nominal gain of everthing else is too high!
The CX3 is not as bad--seems like half way between the electro and the rest of the world.
