Subject:Re: ART TPS tube preamp

Dear folks,

Regarding Speakeasy versus cheap preamps, sometimes one uses a "cheaper"
preamp because of the whole picture. I have a Speakeasy and it is great. I also
have a H&K Rotosphere which I use for a Leslie sim with a V5. Because the two
preamps don't work well in series (as far as I can tell), I end up not using
the Speakeasy when I use the V5. But the V5 is pretty beefy in its basic
sound, so the Speakeasy is not so critical to have with a V5.

But when I use the CX3, which has a thinner sound than the V5, the Speakeasy
seems necessary, and the H&K doesn't quite do it.
