Subject:Re: Clones in garages, band trailers, freezing weather
Hey Melvinn...
As far as heat is concerned, you have no problems.
Where you have to be careful is cold and moisture.
You can leave your gear in a trailer overnight (and in
fact, all week long) as long as you take care
unpacking the unit. When you bring the case inside,
let it set for at least 30 mins if not an hour before
opening it. This gives the instrument inside a chance
to kind of bring itself to room temperature.
Otherwise, opening it right away after being out in
the cold could cause condensation to form inside the
keyboard, which then would give you all kinds of
problems. I have keyboards at home so my travelling
gear tends to stay in the band truck during the week,
and I've never had a problem. I've been doing it that
way for almost 15 years. And Chicago is known for its
brutal weathers. Now theft is another concern
entirely!
