Subject:ART TPS tube preamp

After reading and re-reading specs and reviews versus Behringer MIC-
2200 and Prosonus Blue Tube, I ordered an ART TPS 2-channel preamp
yesterday for $140 to see how well it boosts the CX3 and Electro
outputs into stereo amps, power amps w/PA's. The Electro has a
Hammond-like 'swell' volume effect via its Control jack using an EV-5
type pedal. The CX3 (v2) has a similar effect using its OXP-1 (FC-7)
volume pedal (like an EV-5 phase-switched) along with amp gain and
expression/overdrive adjustments. With a stereo Speakeasy at more
than 5 times the cost of the ART, and both keyboards making a good
electronic attempt to arrive at something like a Hammond AO~ preamp
effect, mainly failing at the line output stage; logic tells me to
try simply boosting the output there with a lower cost alternative.

I play piano and organ together, always piano'd up and on the
drawbars during most songs.
