Dear Carl,
Thanks for the heads up. I've been contemplating a change to the Electro as
being the promised land of "one keyboard," but have restrained myself because
of concerns about the piano sound. (I haven't been able to find online sound
files demonstrating the version 2 Electro piano sounds.)
But being lazy and old and all, I still do just one keyboard per gig. I make
the organ do it all (even in the most improbable of tunes). To have a piano
sound available would be nice, but I would rather do one keyboard instead of
having to HAVE A SYNTHETIC CARBON SPINE SURGICALLY INSTALLED.
Let me get on topic, and talk about clones. I must say that the CX3 does
extremely well when coupled with the Speakeasy preamp. I was using the POD as an
inline reverb unit (I didn't want to fool with rackmounts), but found it made
the CX3 sound too bright: it sort of "undid" the Speakeasy. So now I play
pretty dry with only the Speakeasy.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a warm reverb unit for a CX3 that is
a standalone (not rack) and that does not require a wall wart? (And while
I'm at it, does anyone know the directions to ShangriLa and the fountain of
immortality . . .)
