Dear folks,

Good lord! On a scale of 1 to 10, the Steve Winwood show at the Michigan
theater was about a 300!!!

From an organistic point of view, the show rested on his bass pedal work,
which was grooving, unflagging in energy, and mammoth in tone. It was nearly
THREE HOURS of solid groove (sitting on top of the organ bass). As an organist,
I thought I'd experienced my worst damage when seeing Joey D, but Steve
Winwood dented me so bad I can't even make it to the body shop. It was an
EYE-OPENER as to how organ can be blended with hard-hitting Brazilian drumming to make
a driving rock style.

As expected, the vocals, the band and the rest was astounding (I won't go
into it because it is OT). His new material is great.

P. S. He did cross his left hand over in Gimme Some Lovin.
