Subject:Program change problem on Electro

Hey everybody,
(I also sent this to the Electro group)

I've just discovered an annoying little problem that I can't seem to
solve: I have an Electro 2 and I've started midi-ing it into a
Roland A-70 for splits, layers, dual manual stuff, velocity options
for certain tunes, etc. I can't find a way to STOP the Electro from
changing programs when I switch a program on the A-70.

ALL the program change and Bank select settings on EVERY
patch on the A-70 is set to OFF. I am using NO program change
messages for anything from the A-70, but everytime I switch
patches the electro automatically will switch patches accordingly
to the same number patch.

This was driving me nuts at a gig the other day. I don't see
anything in the manual about this except that one short
paragraph about initiating program changes.

I can probably bypass this problem by switching the midi outs for
the electro on and off on the A-70 panel, but I'd rather not have to.
It would just make it a 2 or 3 step process to get the electro
sounds going on the A-70 in real time performance.
It seems that if I am telling the A-70 not to send any program
change messages, that should be enough.

Any thoughts, or is this another one of those midi shortcomings
in the electro?
Thanks,
Dave Osoff
