It's funny. I remember when the MicroPiano came out.
I bought one right away because I thought it sounded
amazing. It had the most realistic (at that time
anyway) piano of any module or synth I'd heard. I
stuck it in my rack and replaced my MKS20 (one of the
less realistic modules). At soundcheck, the timbale
player turned and said "what happened to your piano
sound??? It USED to be so full?" The MKS had more
girth and stood up to a mix better. I'm hoping that
the realism of Kurzweil has been supplemented by some
girth too. I've bought the PC2x and am actually
having an SKB case custom foamed for it (I'm convinced
my Motif8 survived the "30 airports in 35 days" tour
because the case was custom-foamed for it, not puzzle
fit, so I decided to have RnR Cases custom foam the
inside...good fit and less weight than a typical
flight case). I'm taking it to Austin next week, so
I'll be listening pretty critically.
