Don't be sorry about not liking the CX3. I have a VK7 and do realize its
limitations. I have gone to GC many times and have tried but just never
liked the sound of the CX3 over the VK7. It's a matter of taste and
there is no right or wrong answer. Just like music in general.

who
wants my VK7 is notorious for sacrificing gear for his latest whim. His
bandleader liked the sound of my VK7 and leslie 860 and told him to dump
his Hammond
XK2 and get a Roland.



So today I am off to demo a VK8 . Why? Because it
is the
only thing I can get from my local Guitar Center on 30 day approval....

and.... I have always liked what I have heard from the VK8 -
particularly the
chorus vibrato . I hate that it does not have an editing screen so I may
not keep
it but I want to try it through a leslie.

I can't demo an Electro - there

arent any near Portland Ore. as far as I know.... but.... when I tried
the version
2 through phones in Seattle I still thought it had too much key click.
I
would also really like to demo the Electro through a leslie.

As far as CX3 goes they have been a little spendy
to me
and to be honest I prefered the Roland. I prefer a jazz sound primarily
and I
have always been impressed with the VK8 as far as this goes. I know its
not
the most popular clone on the block , but what I have gathered is that
many
people are looking for and are used to rock sounds out of some of these
clones.
My first priority is to get more of a jazz sound - if I can get that I
can get
it to rock. But I must confess I have not heard the version 2 CX3. I
really
did not like version 1 ....sorry. I will get back to you guys with
more....and
I may have some Mackie gear soon at a resonable price.
