Subject:Re: Returning from the storm...played a VR760 today

Hi guys.

For piano you definitely have to try and play with the amp/mic
settings. My first impression also was that the pianos are very dark,
but that seems to be a Roland thing. My current setting, which cuts
quite well, is classical with amp type 1 somewhere in the middle. I
got advice from the dealer to try the 'Euro' piano with amp2 all the
way up to get a rock piano. It's a mather of taste I suppose.

I also got the Ultimate keys. A mindboggling number of sounds which
is rather hard to get through (scroll sequentially), but it seems to
add 'personality', i.e. the VR screams and howls! ;-)

I've been playing it on a number of gigs now and it's been
dubbed 'grandma' by the band by now. (long story.....). I've heard
remarks like 'grandma is in shape tonight' a number of times, which
only adds to the feeling that I've got myself a really nice
instrument. The scratchmarks on the wood panels are already there.

I'm still very pleased with it.

Happy playing all.
