Subject:Re: XB-1 - Which expression pedals work?
I'm using a Morley Pro Series (optical) volume pedal between my
digital keyboards through the mixer and my scratch-built Leslie. I
would assume that modern vintage clones have similar line level
outputs.
My setup is as follows:
digital keyboard-----mixer----morley----leslie amp
| |
+---+ +---+
| |
+-overdrive-+
Nice thing about this morley pedal is that you can set the minimum
volume. No pots to set the expression as it is done internally
optically. I've taken mine apart to see how it's done - two light-
dependent-resistors(LDRs) with LEDs and an LED controlled by the
minimum volume setting to bias one of the LDRs. Attached to the
pedal is a "dual window" one cuts off light to one LDR while the
other admits light at the same time. I think the effect behaves like
a pot without the noise or mechanical wear.
Hope this helps,
Kevin
