Subject:Re: power amps
He did this beginning with the "Third Stage" album on
thru the current "Corporate America" album. I have
always been curious about his organ sound. His Hammond
Organ has a real spit to its tone. I have read that he
uses Lelie 147's with separate mikes for the treble
and bass rotor and the Leslie's are enclosed in a
heavy duty road cabinet but having played hammonds I
have never heard one that has the kinda spit type tone
that he gets. He used an A100 (I think) for the 1st 2
albums, then after that a modified B3. There has to be
something in his signal chain helping to produce this
unique tone. Could be eq's and preamps?
