the loudness robbing is an effect inherited from the design of the
tonewheel organ. One tone of the generator is shared many times and
appears on
different footages. The Hammond is a current mixer, so if one tone is
"recycled", it appears louder in the mix, but this isn't very linear
due to the resistance of the pickup / filter, which isn't infinite low.
If the organ is in quite well condition (perfect recap, means best
filter performance), the loudness robbing is hardly perceivable. But if
the filters are aged, the robbing is more extreme. Indeed the robbing
is comparable to a compression.
