To the best of my recall his statement came from an interview a few years ago in Keyboard magazine. His view stated that you can stretch tune the Rhodes & Wurlitzer whereas the synth is usually tuned in exact ratio. Many synths have come out w/ a stretch tuning option per patch. Whether or not it compares to actual stretch tuning would be up to the individual's ears to decide.
