Regarding the gaffer tape, find that material in a serious theatrical
supply or professional broadcast film/video retailer. Fletchers of
Chicago or B&H in NY. Permacel is the traditional brand. It is cloth
tape in 2 inch in width. Black. There are two thicknesses of tape.
Get the thicker with stickier adhesive. About 20 bucks a roll. Case
lots, a better deal. The real Permacel can be applied to your dry,
dust-free surface for years and then removed with no adhesive left
behind. Home Depot has many adhesive tapes, but probably not this
material.
