Wow, Mark...

Hugh Beaumont as Ward Cleaver couldn't have delivered a better gentle-but-firm father-son talk on doing our very best even in the face of difficulty. I feel just like "The Beav" and now I gotta go do my homework! No...I mean...I wanna go do my homework! :-)

Of course you're right, Mark, and I hope you don't mind a little good natured kidding around. What I failed to mention in my post on this topic is that I bought a new wall-wart and I'm back to using the Korg module for the horn parts again. I also use the harmonica patch on "Low Rider".

Someone else here mentioned something that I think is key too. (Can't remember who. so whoever said this just raise your hand and take credit) The comment was that if used judiciously synth horns can certainly do a more than adequate job. I wouldn't attempt anything so bold as a sax solo, but short horn parts used sparingly can be just fine.

Our bass player is always encouraging everyone in the band to bring as wide a variety as possible to our sound palate so we can paint more colorful music. It's a nice analogy. He even talked me into bringing out my old Alesis drum machine. I use the timbali pad for accents on a couple tunes. I may only hit it two or three times a night but when I do it always sounds good.
