Subject:Need help w/UC16 and B4

Besides being a complete idiot when it comes to this stuff I'm
generally clueless with these controll surfaces and need a brain
boost. I have tried downloading info from the Evolution site but
there is nothing there regarding how to connect different keyboard
etc.
I use a VK7 into a Vaio laptop to control the B4 program. I access
the laptop by way of a midiman midi/usb interface.
The VK7 is in the shop for repairs so I would like to use my Motif 8
not only as my piano sound source but also as a back-up controller
for the B4.
I would assume that I connect the Motif to the laptop as I would the
VK7. Do I plug the UC16 into the other USB port on the laptop?
I would assume that the Motif sends midi to play the sounds and the
UC16 independently controls things like drawbar movement, leslie
speed, percussion, chorus etc.
I'm not sure how to get all of this to work as a team. Right now
I've got the UC16 hooked up to the laptop but it won't control
anything. ie drawbar movement. I believe I have the midi number set
correctly but nothing happens. Supposedly the UC16 has a template
already to go for the B4.
I also checked to make sure the correct drivers are installed and I
believe they are.
I'd appreciate assistance from anyone who uses midi controller to
control the B4.
