Ive just built a Pentium IV 3 gig machine and i fully expect to be able to run as many VST instruments as my heart desires. And the choice are huge. Samplers such as Halion gives access to infinate libraries in all different formats, They are also many awesome sounding synths, FM7 for one but there are too many to name.

I use my old Korg M1 as main controller and a cheapy $99 Yamaha keyboard as a second. I use a Peavey PC1600x midi command station for controlling all B4 functions and for tweaking synths and effects. Someone mentioned another midi controller that you push instead of pull, the PeaveyPC1600x's sliders are reversable : ) The Peaveys are a little pricey but its completely programable, well
built and I truly I love mine.
