Subject:RE: Should I Trade my Cx3 for a Hammond Xk2
David,
I played an XK2 for several years. A year or so ago I migrated to an
Electro 2 for the following reasons: 1. The XK is much heavier. 2. The
XK is more shrill at the higher register.
I haven't played a CX3, but the Leslie option is not a problem if you use a
preamp -- the preamp takes the 1/4 inch output and sends a Leslie
feed/pigtail that connects to the Leslie cord. Since the preamp improves
the sound, I would try that with the CX3 before you change.
I still use the XK for party gigs where others will be banging on the keys -
still sounds OK with a Leslie, but not quite as good as the Electro IMHO.

Subject: [CWSG] Should I Trade my Cx3 for a Hammond Xk2
Even though I love my Cx3 running through my pitiful Peavey kb300 amp
(good leslie effect), I am looking to upgrade, but This clone does not
have a pedal option/nor does it have the option to hook up a leslie
like the xk2 or vk8 has.
Why Korg left this out I do not know...It seems to me that those other
2 clones have more versatility when it come to upgrades. Maybe I'm
blind and not looking at the whole picture, but those of you that have
played or have an xk2 or vk8 let me know how do you like it.
