I'm looking for that in-between feel, so I can use one keyboard to play both piano and organ/synth. I saw a used Alesis QS8.2 in Sam Ash the other day. The keys felt pretty nice...sort of right in the middle between weighted and non. But although the keys felt nice, the sounds were...well let's just say unsatisfactory for my ear so as not to offend any QS8.2 owners in the group. At 48 pounds, it's also at the top of it's weight class for portability.

Was also looking at Kurzweil SP88X. 88 weighted keys, and a hefty 52 pounds! But priced right at $700. But then I'd end up spending the money I save on a second board for organ/synth, and still hauling around too much heavy gear. The K2500 was on eBay...several of them actually...for quite a bit more cash, but a killer sounding board with lots of potential. I will look into the 76 key PC2. I assume you are happy with it. You may have read my posts on the Roland FP5. Nice sounds, but no buttons was the deal breaker on that board. Don't think I can ask my band mates to "hold-on" while I scroll through the patches with the +/- buttons looking for the right sound. Grrrrrrrrr....what a dumb design!

I want a new rig...I want it to feel good, sound good, be user friendly and not give me a hernea. This doesn't seem like a lot to ask, but so far I have not found the perfect all-in-one. It's the Holy Grail for keyboardists. Don't you agree?

If it is the same keyboard as my PC2 76 key I would
say it's a good compromise between piano & organ, about as good a compromise as I've felt. I use the PC2 76 with a Nord Electro. TZ
