Subject:Soundfield question about EONG2 and Barbetta 41c

Dear list,

I read a review that mentioned that the Barbetta 41c has a good "soundfield,"
that is, you can hear it nicely even if you are not directly in front of it
but are on the stage. Can you actually hear it if you are off to the side of
it, yet on the stage rather close to it? Can anyone verify this?

I wonder because my EONG2 setup is too directional. If you are not directly
in front of the speaker, you don't hear it, and if you are directly in front
of it, you get blasted into mush. The EONG2 is impeccable if you are out in
the audience, but onstage it seems like it is either nothing or too much,
depending on where you are relative to the speaker. (At least that is my
experience--if anyone can help me understand a better way to set it up, I'm all ears.)
