Actually, they are hollowed out underneath, but the
underside of the "diving board" of each key is
actually weighted. (You can see it if you look
underneath, there is a small metal wedge in the diving
board of the key.) But Mark is correct in that it is
one of the best feeling semi-weighted (Roland's term,
and in this case, absolutely correct) controllers
ever, and will serve best as an organ/synth keyboard.
