Hi, I use a Ritter (RCK755) gig bag for my V Combo, 20mm foam padding in a strong nylon bag with thick soft plastic base and sides, cost £49 in UK. Gig bags are sooo much cheaper in USA, similar bag may cost only $20.

I never used to accept that gig bags were up to the standard for carrying keyboards but they are all much better than just few years ago, and so much cheaper.

I also have a Gator hard case that is some kind of poly-plastic that has built in wheels - much heavier but if the keyboard is travelling with the rest of the band gear I still prefer the protection it gives. The Gator case was £180, onve again, much cheaper in USA - you'd have to find Astralian prices yourself.

After a decade of carting my keyboards round in heavy aluminium
flight cases, I've realised a few things

1. I rarely do gigs outside my own city
2. I always take my own gear in my own car
3. The back of my station wagon is not a warzone

So now I have a new V-Combo, I'm wondering about lighter duty cases
just for absorbing the occasional bump and knock as the keyboard is
being loaded or carried around.

I once saw a Roland FP8 in a kind of foam shell, with a zip up
cordura cover over it. The guy was carrying the piano with an over
the shoulder strap - one trip from the carpark and he was setup to go
with keyboard, stand and amp - nice.

Can anyone suggest any cases that I might look into. I really don't
need sheet metal tanks anymore (never did!)
