Subject:Re: B4 on a laptop. Slight technical problem: help required

Yeah, power is {never, never, never} x2.
The problem happens every 2 or so minutes, regularly.
I guess the clock consumes a steady & low rate of CPU cycles.
I have no screen saver. Using an OS other than win98R2 isn't
an option right now.

Does anyone know how to find out what is gobbling up the majority
of the CPU cycles once every couple of minutes on my machine?
Is there a way to see what OS activities are using what
system resources at any time?

Such a pity, since I'm finally learning to master the
expression pedal on slow blues tunes, and these songs have
notes playing all the time, so you really notice it 1.5s dropout
of sound.

thanks in advance for any more help,
john
