Subject:RE: B4/SRM450 top octave EEK!

I liked it immediately. OTOH, that could be bad for me since things
always seem to go from good to bad sound-wise.
My guess is that the harsh upper register is the fault of the B4
program.
I used the 450 on a Saturday afternoon gig with a Motif 8. It
sounded pretty good although it wouldn't have taken much more band
volume for the thing to get lost in the decibel wars. I ran the
Motif straight into the Mackie then the foh guy/scientist ran a low z
line out of the Mackie to the splitter. I was running the 450 at
about 1:00 and it was very clear. I 'm guessing I could probably
turn it up a notch but I think the piano on the Motif would have
finished it off at that volume. That Power Piano patch on the Motif
is brutal! I had to engage the low roll-off button because the Motif
with no EQ is a little boomy on the low end especially through the
450.
Not bad for a hit and run box.
Then on Saturday evening for the second gig I used it with the B4 and
associated other stuff.
It was ok except for the high end. whew-bad!
