Steve

As for the bandwidth of midi, I must admit that I very little about
the speed of midi. But I did an experement this morning real quick
before work. Heres my simple setup:

Korg M1 as controller
Peavey PC 1600X
Pentium 3 800mhz
512 MB pc 133 ram
Sound Blaster Live 5.1 using KX drivers @ 5.33 MS
Windows 2K Pro
Steinberg's V-STack (vsti host for live/stage use)

I was easily able to load 9 instances of B4. The VST Performance
indicator in V-Stack which runs around 5% to 10% With 1 instance of
B4, ran around 60% to 70% with 9 instances. I could play 8 note
cords and adjust all the drawbars with no problem at all. When I
tried big glissandos it maxed out my cpu resulting in clicks and
pops. However i feel that a P4 system would have no problem running
9 instances of B4. I dont think I had any midi problems whatsoever.
Each instance of B4 was set to listen on all midi channels 1-16.
With Petkov's B4CE you would of course run each instance of B4 on
channels 1-9.

Another thing i thought of is this: In this set up each individual
drawbar tone can be manipulated. Dont under estimate that last
statment. You can condition, EQ, run effects, pan, compress, etc
EACH INDIVIDUAL DRAWBAR TONE!
