Subject:Re: Hammond ( XK2 ) drawbar midi cc numbers?
Hi Bruce,
I guessed this might be the case, and Sven Wannas kindly emailed the
copy of the relevant page in H-S's user manual showing the details.
All I can say is "What a bummer"
Trust Hammond to be different. Perhaps they were thinking of the
ecology, saving resources and all that; why use 9 midi numbers when
you can get away with 1? Hammond always did like to make life
complicated. Just look at the way you have to rig up a Leslie. Seems
hammond's gear is designed not to talk to others. Their GM1000 module
being another case in point, but that's another story. Mind you it
does makes sense, 'cos they've got their own controller at £299 to do
the job.
Any-way it's back to the drawing board. Of course I could rig up my
Doepfer Pocket Fader so that the sliders were all set to 80 and
physical stoppers were set in the sliders' paths so they only
travelled the required distance, but even I'm not that annal. Well
not quite but I have set a stopper in one of the sliders' paths to
control the electro's Leslie so that it moves only a short distance
across the 64 mark to effect a rampup/down.
Thanks Bruce and to every-one who emailed me.
Best regards to all in this super Newsgroup.
