Subject:Re: BX3-VK88-KEY5

Hi Tony.
8th Street music (www.8thstreet.com) has the Key5 for $3300.00, about
the same as the going rate for the BX3, and the webpage indicated
that it was in stock. Your local guitar center should match the
price, I like going that way with really expensive breakable stuff
rather than trusting UPS. Don't know why Voce didn't build a SPIN 2
leslie sim into it, but apparently they did just that with the Key5
church version, I forget what they're calling it. I'm months or years
away from buying a two tier clone myself, but I've done a lot of
research. It is kind of strange that the BX3 doesn't have a bass
pedal option, apparently requires a lot of tweaking and/or a
speakeasy, and then there's that cockamamie plastic covered fake wood
cabinet!! I'd rather just have the Key5's "look, we just painted it
black, okay?" cabinet.
Then there's the Viscount DB5, with optional pedals, all the options,
and I'm not sure about the integrity of the cabinet. Good luck
getting a hands on look at one of these, I can send you a link for a
couple of playing examples on line.
www.music123.com has it for a mere $2200.00, which I can't ignore.
I'm betting that Key5 reviews will be posted in the group as some of
the members start buying it; it was anxiously anticipated. It might
just be THE clone...
But what do I know? I play an Emu...
Hope this helps.
See ya
