Subject:both manuals; same drawbars >:(

I have had my cx-3 plugged into an old 80's sampler to use as my
second manual for some time now. today i noticed that the old
sampler stoped responding to the second drawbars and will only do
what the upper manual drawbars are set to. i checked the MIDI IN TO
LOWER setting, and it is on, the MIDI cable seems fine, and since the
controller is responding to the CX-3 at all it seems like it still
working. anyone know what may be going on?
