I understand ENTIRELY. Although he probably more embarrassed himself than did
any harm to the equipment.
One weekend, both senior pastor and music director were away. I was preaching
the sermon and was not up for doing music too. We had a guest organist coming
in (he attends our church when he's not playing elsewhere), that was used to
Allen and Rodgers organs. He wanted to know how to work the Hammond A-100.
In about 2 minutes I showed him how to start it, explained "ignore the
drawbars, ignore the first one and last two preset keys, the the white keys
are solos and the black keys are ensembles, and they get stronger from left
to right" (we have a decent set of liturgical presets). I showed him a little
how they sounded.
He decided to play the piano and Yamaha keyboard instead.
