Not true in my case. Fine if you use the CX3 internal leslie
simulator/amp modes 1/2 but i find that this setting increases the
problem with lack of tone substance in the top octaves. The only way
i've got what i wanted out
of my CX3 is to use Pre Amp mode, and use a Leslie. Now, in pre amp
mode the signal is particularly weedy. Setting output to 127 does not
give enough. I tried setting all the internal EQ settings to 10 and
this helps but defeats the object of having internal EQ.
IMO, the only way to get real happy with the CX3, is to use something
that boosts its output prior to the SE. Iv'e found that using another
small tube pre amp to do this works the best. Like i said, if your
using the internal simulator then you have the option of pushing up
the internal gain but personally i can't live with that setting.
