Hi Tony,

that's the one. It's advertised as a mic pre amp, presumably because
it's aimed at studio/recording market, but it works fine for
instruments. I use a 1/4 inch jack in and out. The key to it is using
with the 20db pad button depressed, otherwise the distortion is way
too fierce. The SE solves the shrillness on the top octave on it's
own, but without something in front of it, i find the CX3 tends to
disapear in a band mix. This unit just seems to give the signal a bit
more presence without adding treble.
