Subject:Re: VR-760 Follow-up???

I was just at GC playing the VR 760. I'm finding it has a real nice B3 sound.
Having been raised on a real B3 I can hear the B's sound in the VR, moreso
than any other clone so far. I posted a month ago about the VK8 after having
played it for the first time and thought it to be better than the CX3 and the
Nord. Now the VR has moved to first place to my ears and fingers. The 76 keys
make it easier to play and is an improvement over the 61 key. The waterfall keys
on the VR don't feel like wax Halloween teeth, if this makes sense to any of
you. There's something to having more keys to the left of you, that are on the
same plane. I compared the VK the CX and the VR . The VR has a better organ
sound overall, even if the VK8 has the same engine. Go figure. The piano sounds
have not impressed me yet on the VR and the string and synth sounds are
adequate for a background live performance. It remains to be seen, how these sounds
will do for recording purposes. The vibrato at C3 is tolerable . It would be
nice if the speed and depth of the vibrato and chorus were variable and
perhaps there are internal controls for this, I don't know about yet. The Leslie sim
is okay at chorale but like all clones sounds fake at tremelo. At this point
I'm thinking the VR's tonewheel organ sounds are right on. Now with a real
Leslie....
